This small stand alone suture trainer is designed to practise suturing of several tissue layers. This trainer has 3 suturable layers. A skin layer, a membrane layer and a muscle layer.
This model is based on the appearance of a typical post thyroidectomy wound. This is an excellent tool for novices to practise their suturing techniques upon as well as gaining an understanding of the challenges surrounding wound closure, assisting in wound closure and wound retraction.
The layers of the model; skin, membrane and muscle can be sutured with round bodied needles. Blood or blood clot can be inserted or added as required.
The model can be used multiple times.

Setup instructions
Place the model on a firm surface like a table. If using blood or blood clot, insert the chosen blood product into the appropriate areas of the model for your training session.
Care, repair & cleaning instructions
The model can be washed with warm soapy water and disinfected with Iso Alcohol.
Flush out the bloodlines thoroughly, if applicable to your model.
Flush lines with Iso-alcohol to prevent mould.
Make sure the model is thoroughly dried before storing.
As Silicone is an oil based product, it may become a little shiny over time. Wipe off any oily residue with Isopropyl Alcohol. You can use talcum powder and brush this over shiny areas.
Store away from direct sunlight.
