Anatomically accurate placenta and umbilical cord for obstetric and neonatal simulation training.

This high-fidelity silicone placenta and umbilical cord is designed primarily as a visual teaching aid, giving undergraduate and pre-registration learners a clear, realistic reference for placental and umbilical anatomy, including the correct vessel configuration of one vein and two arteries.

Soft and tactile, the model replicates the look and feel of human tissue for an authentic training experience. The umbilical cord features three distinct bloodlines and can be perfused with simulated blood for added realism (note: filling the cord can be somewhat difficult).

The unit also functions as an attachment for any MEDICFX birthing baby model, extending its use across delivery and neonatal scenarios.

When ordering with a Baby we offer an attachable option through adding connectors to the babies umbilical stump and the umbilical cord. That way the cord can just be unclipped instead of cut, thus keeping it intact for the next training.

Cleaning and repair:

• As Silicone is an oil-based product, it may become a little shiny over time. Wipe off any oily residue with Isopropyl Alcohol. Dry with a hairdryer.
• The silicone can be washed with warm soapy water and disinfected with Iso Alcohol. Dry thoroughly with a soft towel or hairdryer.
• Store in a dry, dark and cool environment.

Warranty: 

MEDICFX warrants that the products supplied will be of good quality and reasonably fit for the purpose(s) mentioned in the descriptions. All products that are faulty or damaged need to be notified, with a photo of the damage, within a week after receiving the products. If the damage or fault is due to fabrication, the faulty product can be returned and repaired, replaced, or refunded.

MEDICFX offers a 6-month warranty on the silicone parts of your model. With normal, gentle use no rips or tears should occur. There is no warranty on hair-work.
